On motion of Mr. Clark of Hallowell Ordered, That the committee on the Judiciary be directed to examine the laws relating to the duties of Coroners in making inquests of violent & casual deaths with leave to report by bill or otherwise such alterations as they think proper - read & passed. Sent up for concurrence.
Bill - to prevent destruction by Crows reported with amendments which were adopted, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed as amended. Sent up for concurrence.
Bill - to incorporate the Proprietors of Dead River Bridge, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed in concurrence with the Senate.
Petition of Sharinton Stagpole for leave to change his name was read & referred to the committee on change of names.
Resolve to promote the publication of a General History of this State was read a second time, amended at T and then on motion of Mr Adams of Portland it was indefinitely postponed. Sent up for concurrence
