The House reconsidered their vote of yesterday refusing a passage to be engrossed of the Resolve for the benefit of the Maine Westeyan Seminary - amended the same as on sheet annexed marked B, and then refused the Bill a passage to be engrossed - This latter question was taken by yeas & nays & decided as follows Yeas 62 Nays 64 [See appendix page 295.]

A message from the Governor dated 9th Inst addressed to the President of the Senate, transmitting the proceedings under a Resolve passed February 17 1824 authorizing the Governor to negotiate with the Penobscot Indians for the transfer of the Islands in the Penobscot River to the State came down referred to the committee on State Lands for concurrence - and the House concurred.
