A Committee was appointed to examine the credentials of members & report whether a quorum be present who attended to the duty assigned them & reported in the affirmative
A message was sent to the officiating Governor informing him that a quorum of the House were assembled and requesting his attendance at the Representatives Chamber to qualify the Representatives Elect to enter upon the discharge of their official duties.
Accordingly the officiating Governor attended by the Council & Secretary of State & preceded by the Sheriff of Cumberland came in when the members elect took & subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify them to enter upon the discharge of their official duties
