Mr. Hall, from the Committee appointed to wait on Samuel E. Smith, esquire, and inform him of his election to the Office of Governor of the State of Maine for the current political year, and that both branches of the Legislature are now ready to meet in Convention for the purpose of administering the oaths of Office required by the Constitution, reported, that the committee had performed the duty assigned them, and the Governor elect was pleased to say that he accepted the office, and would meet the two branches of the Legislature in the Representatives chamber, at ten o'clock in the forenoon this day, for the purpose of being qualified, according to the provisions of the Constitution. | Mr. Hall, from the Committee appointed to wait on Samuel E.
