Agreeably to assignment, the two branches of the Legislature met in convention in the Representatives chamber, for the purpose of administering the necessary oaths to William Emerson, Esq., councillor elect, who came in and took and subscribed the oaths required by the constitution of this State, to qualify him to enter upon his official duties, in presence of both branches of the Legislature and before the President of the Convention. The convention then separated.
