To Governor Washburn
Dear Sir
I understand that there is a man in the 2d Maine Company C. named Charles F. Nickerson who wishes to be transfered to the Hamlin Battery and his friends are quite anxious it should be done for him. Now if you in your wisdom think this could be affected or brought about I should be pleased to have the transfer made but will leave you to judg of its expeidancy
