Dear Sir,
I presume Col. Wildes has told you, ere this, of the treatment of the men enlisted as teamsters by Col. Roberts of the Maine 2nd.
I can say only this, teamsters and soldiers have rights as well as niggers and Colonels. I doubt not but you can place this matter right by advice to the Col. I consider the treatment a perfect outrage, and have charity to believe Roberts was drunk or he never would have done as he has, especially
