An order was moved by Mr. Hamlin of Columbia that the Committee on Finance be instructed to inquire into the expediency of allowing the town of Columbia some drawback on the State taxes which said town has paid during the last ten years upon an error in the valuation of 1821 amounting to about one fifth part of the whole valuation - which order was read & referred to the next Legislature - sent up for concurrence.
