Order from the House of Representatives instructing the Joint Standing Committee on Literature and Literary Institutions to enquire into the expediency of making further provisions by law for the annual collection, preservation and distribution of information respecting Schools & School funds throughout the State. Read and passed in concurrence.

The Report of the Joint Standing Committee on the Judiciary to whom was referred an order instructing them to enquire into the expediency of enacting a general law for the protection of all incorporated bridges; Also into the expediency of enacting a general law for calling the first meeting of the inhabitants of newly incorporated towns, that further legislation is inexpedient. Read and accepted in concurrence.

Order from the House of Representatives appointing Messrs Woodman of Buxton, Lowell of East Machias, Swett of Hollis, Emery of Biddeford and Lane of Alexander a Committee with such as the Senate may join, to examine into the expediency of so amending the law passed in 1831 relative to owners of Mill logs and other lumber, better to secure to owners of Mill logs. Masts, Spars, and other lumber floating upon the several rivers in this State; to report by Bill or otherwise. Read and passed in concurrence and Messrs. Bradbury, Talbot & Herrick were joined.
