Report on the petition of Hugh M Boyinton, granting leave to withdraw, was read & accepted. Sent up for concurrence.
Bill authorizing the Court of Sessions for the County of Cumberland to lay out a road across a creek, or arm of the sea in Freeport, was read 1st & 2nd time & Monday next at 10 oclock assigned for a 3rd reading.
The committee on engrossed Bills reported as duly engrossed. Bill an additional act relating to Foreign Attachment- - to incorporate the Proprietors of the Bangor Pier Corporation - - to repeal part of an act making further provision concerning records of Justices of the Peace- - to repeal the laws relating to the Salmon, Shad & Alewive fishery, in the river Kennebec, in the County of Kennebec- which were severally passed to be enacted. Sent up for concurrence.
An additional resolve appointing Commissioners to settle with certain Land Agents, came from the Senate passage refused - The House nonconcurred and this question was taken by yeas & nays and decided as follows yeas, 50 nays 66 [see appendix page] The House then read the Resolve once and amended the same & passed it to be engrossed as amended. Sent up for concurrence
Bill to prevent the filling up & obstruction of Schoodic River, came from the Senate referred to the next Legislature & Notice ordered thereon for concurrence and the House concurred - Immediately Mr Smith of Nobleboro; moved a reconsideration, & the House assigned Monday at 11 oclock to consider the subject.
