The report, on the petition of inhabitants of Bath, came up from the House recommitted to the committee on the Incorporation of towns. The Senate recede from their vote, accepting said report, and concur the House in the recommitment of the same.
The petition of James B. Fisk and others for extension of time to build a dam was read and referred to the joint standing committee on Turnpikes, Bridges, & Canals, in concurrence.
The petition of Samuel Shorey, that the Land agent may be authorized to give him a deed of a lot of land, was read and referred to the joint standing committee on State Lands, in concurrence.
Order from the House of Representatives, instructing the committee on the Judiciary to enquire into the expediency of providing by law, that the assessors of the several towns in this State be authorized and empowered to asses for the support of Government all persons living in plantations and other unincorporated places , adjoining their respective towns, read and passed in concurrence.
