The Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges & Canals, reported leave to withdraw on petition of J. Gardiner and others, read and accepted in concurrence.

The Committee that have under consideration, so much of the Governor's message as relates to Internal Improvements, to which was referred the petition of Rufus K. Page, made a report, asking to be discharged from the further consideration of said petition, came up from the House, referred to the Committee on the Judiciary. Read and referred in concurrence.

Remonstrance of Humphrey Purrinton and others, lumberman, and Mill owners of Brunswick & Topsham against the propose Dam at Augusta, was read and referred to the Committee that have that subject under consideration, in concurrence.

Petition of the Overseers of the Poor of the town of Hodsdon, for the State to defray the expence [expense] of supporting an insane person; read and referred to the Committee on Claims, in concurrence.

Petition of sundry inhabitants of Houlton for a Sluiceway in Jay S. Putnam's Mill Dam in Houlton for the passage of Salmon, was read and referred to the Committee on Turnpikes, Bridges and Canals, in concurrence.

Resolve respecting the State Prison, (reported by Mr. Knowlton from the Committee on the State Prison, to which was referred the Report of the Inspectors of the State Prison; and also the Report of the Warden of the State Prison,
