Ordered That the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of providing by law that no town shall be liable to a presentment or Indictment by any grand jury in consequence of a defect in any road unless the Complainant or Complainants shall first give the Selectmen seasonable notice that such road or roads are out of repair & are unsafe & dangerous for teams and carriages to pass thereon. Sent up for concurrence
