10th Some of the 1st Me Cav boys came to see me. I saw my brother Prentis and he was well. While we was here General George B. McLellan took his leav of the armey and I saw him as he passed.

16th We marched through the town and in the direction of Warenton Junction which is 8 miles down the road. We crossed the Orange & Alexander RR in the direction of Falmoth. We stayed two days near Hartwood church on account of it being very rainy and muddy. Here Joseph Brucklebank was taken sick and never done much duty afterwards.
