General Orders Head Quarters March 30th Boston 1794

The Major Generals of the Several Divisions of the Militia on the Sea Coast of this Commonwealth will immediately on receiving this Order cause such Directions to be given to the Commanding Officers of the Militia at the several Sea ports within their respective Districts as shall be necessary to afford all lawfull aid to the Officers of the Customs of the United States in carrying into effect an Embargo laid by a Resolve of Congress for Thirty Days from the 26th of March Instant (unless sooner discontinued) on all Ships and Vessels whether cleared or not, now in the ports of the United States and which may be bound to any foreign port or place - excepting Ships and Vessels Commissioned by foreign powers, other than letters of Marque By Order of the Commander in Chief
