Dear Sir
I am a corporal in Company D 2nd Maine--was taken prisoner at the Battle of Bull Run and also was wounded by a musket ball breaking my left-- was carried captive to Richmond on parole not to serve again until exchanged and I am directed by E M Stanton in writing to report my address to you
