Ordered, That the Committee on Finance be instructed to enquire into the expediency of transferring from the valuation of the town of Hallowell to that of the town of Gardiner the sum of thirty eight - thousand, seven hundred & sixty nine dollars, and of repealing such part of the third section of an act of the Legislature of this State, passed on the 24th day of February 1834, as requires an assessment of State, & County taxes, by the town of Hallowell upon certain inhabitants of Gardiner, set off by said act from Hallowell to Gardiner.

Ordered That the Committee on Rail Roads & Canals, to whom was recommitted their report on the petition of the Bangor & Orono rail Road Company, with the Bill reported by them for a statement of facts, be further instructed to report the same in a new draft. Sent up for concurrence

Ordered That the Committee on Literature &c be instructed to enquire into the expediency of appropriating the sum of - dollars for the purpose of furnishing a suitable library & philosophical apparatus to each of the incorporated academics in this State. Sent up for concurrence.

Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to enquire whether any alterations are necessary in the law relating to gambling and whether the practice of horseracing is prohibited by that law, and if not, whether legislation on that subject may not be necessary. Sent up for concurrence.
