Patients complained and said they had been left above; I could not say they had been there unless I was there all the time myself. But I would be in the lodge quite frequently and would not find an attendant there or anybody else, and the patient suffering for the want of watter [water]. Q. Didn't the rule require the attendant to be there in the lodge? A. The rule didn't require the attendant to be in the lodge when the patient was there; it only required them to go there once in a while, as you may say, to look after them properly. By Mr. Baker" Q. What was your duty over them? A. Assistant physician; had the care of the male patients and took visitors round. Q. Did you have the exclusive care of the male patients? A.
