I have seen patients, if you would flatter them, praise them up some times for a while, they would not molest the clothing for a little while. But a paryxysm [paroxysm] would come on and the clothing would be torn. Q. But there was no discrimination as to the amount of clothing to put on at all was there? A. I have never observed any. Q. Suppose a patient were in bed, and the question related to bed clothing. Have you observed any distinction in the conduct of patients that they would throw off, for instance, a single quilt, but would not throw off if you put on two- observed any habit of that sort among patients?
