[When seats of members are vacated in recess notice to be given to Town Clerk-- & towns to choose &c] Committee appointed upon the subject report the following order-- to wit: Ordered, that whenever, during a recess of the Legislature, the seat of any member of the House of Representatives shall be vacated by resignation in writing, delivered to the Clerk of the Town or Plantation, in which such member resided at the time of his election, or by death or otherwise; the town or class, of which such a member was a Representative may fill such vacancy by a new election, without further order of this House. Read and passed.
