�75 [James Ayer refused seat] As second meeting warned for the purpose of choosing a Representative was holden on or about the 10th of May last, which without taking any vote upon that subject was adjourned to the first Monday of September which will be in the year of our Lord 1821. A third meeting warned for that purpose was holden on the 19th day of May 19th of May last at which said Town proceeded to ballot for a Representative and James Ayer had a majority of all the votes. Upon these facts the Committee are unanimously of opinion, that said supposed election on the 19th day of May last was utterly void and that said James Ayer is not entitled to a seat in this House. Per order June 5th 1820 Peleg Sprague Read and accepted. [Allowed is travel & attendance] Ordered That the pay of James Ayer of Newfield whose seat is this day vacated be made up on the Pay Roll including today. [message reporting accommodation for Legislature] A communication from the Governor. To the Senate and House of Representatives. The Secretary will lay before you a communication I have received from the Committee appointed by the late Convention for the purpose of providing accommodation for the Legislature.
