Army as an enlisted man has necessarily prevented me from doing so, but should I receive a commission, thereby being released from my bond, I could give the matter my personal attention and I can assure you with confidence that through friends and my own exertions I could in short time furnish my quota of a company.
As I have before stated, I should not have made this application was I not necessarily out of the line of promotion in my own regiment.
