Dear Sir
Information is requested concerning Stillman Briston who enlisted in the 2d Maine Volunteers Company H from Aroostic County. The last heard from him was soon after the battle of Bull Run.
Will you [?] ans. in the way of finding out whether he is dead or alive and thereby oblige his anxious friends in behalf of whom I write.
