The Secretary of the Senate laid upon the table a list of the business referred from the last to the present Legislature - and the same was ordered to lie upon the table.

The two Houses met in convention according to assignment to elect three Senators, once for the Second Senatorial District, and two for the tenth Senatorial District to fill the vacancies in said Districts .

Messrs. Strickland and Soule of the Senate and Messrs Comstock of Lubec, Lyman of Portland and Paine of Sanford of the House were appointed a Committee to receive, sort, and count the votes for one Senators to fill the vacancy in the Second Senatorial District.
