In obedience to the order of the Commander in Chief of the 7th inst I have attended to the inspection of the Clothing & Equipment made for the 2d Regt and would report as follows: The Overcoats, Frock Coats, Wollen Pants were uniformly well made of a good substantial Cloth. The Cotton Flannel Drawers were (excepting a few Doz rejected) of good quality of Cloth and well made. The Cotton Flannel Shirts were not good rejected[underscored] Wollen Socks were (with a few exceptions which were thrown out) unusually good All of the above articles were furnished by Wheelwright & Clark of Bangor The Knapsacks, Haversacks, Cartridge Boxes
