The undersigned respectfully recommend Sam W Hoskins of Old Town as a suitable person, and well qualified to discharge the duties of agent for the Penobscot tribe of Indians, and ask his appointment to the office, when vacated.

-The appointment of Mr. Hoskins would I think give better satisfaction to the Republicans of Penobscot, than any ohter of the candidates.
