reported that the votes from the following towns and plantations were rejected, viz, from the town of Hancock in the County of Hancock, there being no town of that name in the State; from the towns of Phipsburg in the County of Lincoln and Sangerville in the County of Penobscot, because it did not appear by the returns in what towns the votes were given; from the town of Wayne in the County of Kennebec & plantation of Howards Gore in the County of Oxford, the lists not having been returned to the office of the Secretary of State within the time prescribed by the Constitution; from the town of Maxfield in the County of Penobscot, the year in which the meeting was holden being omitted, from the Plantation of Fryburg [Fryeburg] Addition in the County of Oxford, the certificate not being signed by the Assessors and from plantation Number one in the same County, because it does not appear that the votes were declared in open town meeting. The Committee further reported that six votes in the list of votes from the town of Calais in the County of Washington, two votes in that of Vienna in the County of Kennebec, and one vote in the town of Kilmarnock in the County of Penobscot, having been inserted in the respective lists as scattering votes without the name of any person for whom given, were not counted. And that they do not find any returns from the town of Hope in the County of Lincoln & Pittsfield in the Country of Somerset.

The committee to whom was referred the subject of preparing a code of regulations for the government of this House the current political year, reported a system of Rules & Regulations - and the report was read and accepted.
