To the Hon. Governor & Council of Maine
I am informed that a new appointment to the officer of Indian Agent of Old Town is sure to be made. I beg leave to recommend Frederick [Frederic] H. Dillingham Esq of this city for that office.
He is well known here and esteemed as a gentleman of most strict integrity and honor, and has all the qualifications requisite for that office.
