The remains of the 2nd Regt. begin to look more prosperous then when I last wrote you - They have moved into a new place, part of them are in the Fort, tho can see part outside. They have the change of the Fort & will probably be Stationed here some time, at least, until their ranks are filled, some of the invalids have returned to their duty. Many will have to be dis- charged for incurable causes, and others will be allowed a furlough, then the Regt. will be relieved from a great evil, for these men were not only a burden but they affected the will by their complaints and doleful foreboding. I really hope that no more men
