Gus[?] Scott desires me[?] to recruit my[?] Rgt[?] to one thousand men [?] upwards[?]. I need about three hundred new[?] men. I was informed at the Department today that they would send[?] a man to Bangor I[?] muster[?] that number into the service as soon as they were enlisted. My [?] inform me, that number can be raised for this regt[?] in a very[?] few days if you will authorize it which I have no doubt you will do.

I was informed at the Department today that they would send a man to Bangor & muster that number into the service as soon as they were enlisted. My friends inform me, that number can be raised for this regt in a very few days if you will authorize it which I have no doubt you will do.
