I was engaged 12 days enlisting men at Old Town & conducting them from Old Town to Falls Church Va. We laid in Washington 3 days - before we could get to Falls Church - there I paid out expenses for the security of the men 7$ Please to forward to G.P Sewall, Old Town, whatever amt. you choose to allow me for services together with the 7$ expenses - my children need it. I will consider it a great favor if you will have this done as early as possible.

Of the men that I enlisted Benjamin J Coombs & Frank Violette both of Old Town deserted in Boston - Ivory Spencer of Milford Maine George Kimball of Brighton Map both deserted in Washington - they had received bounty and clothing.
