Report on the petition of the town of Albion, granting an order of notice, came from the Senate accepted for concurrence, and the House referred the same to Messrs Benson of China Morse of Mt Vernon & Winslow of Albion.

The joint standing Committee to whom was referred an order instructing them to inquire into the expediency of altering or repealing the law establishing Courts of Sessions, so far as it relates to the appointment of standing committees within the several Counties” – also an order, instructing them "to inquire what alteration, if any, are necessary to be made in the act establishing Courts of Sessions in the several Counties, passed 25th February 1825" also ”to inquire into the expediency of repealing the act passed 8th Feby 1823, authorizing the Supreme Judicial Court to lay out & alter public highways in certain cases” – also the petitions of Theodore Parker & als, - of Samuel Adams & als, - of a committee of the town of York - & of Samuel Lancey & als – reported a Bill – and the House accepted the report. Sent up for concurrence.

The House assigned tomorrow at 11 oclock to ballot a third time for a Major General for the 4th Division.

Bill additional to the several acts now in force respecting Highways, was read once and Friday next at 10 oclock assigned for a 2d reading and 300 copies ordered to be printed for the use of the members.

The committee to whom was referred a Bill taken from the last years files concerning the assessment & collection of taxes reported the same in a new draft – report was accepted.

Bill – additional to an act concerning the assessment and collection of taxes, was read once and friday next at 11 oclock assigned for a 2d reading & referred in the meantime to Messrs Adams of Portland, Snow of Frankfort & Weeks of Parsonsfield.
