Resolve respecting the survey of the Indian townships, was read once & tomorrow at 10 oclock assigned for a 2nd reading.

Report on the petition of John Gardner & als – granting an order of notice, came from the Senate accepted for concurrence and the House concurred.

Resolve respecting a Gaol in Eastport, came from the Senate referred to the next Legislature for concurrence. The House voted to adhere to their vote of 1st February passing the same to be engrossed. Sent up.

Agreeably to assignment the House took a fourth ballot for a Major General for the fourth Division – The whole number of votes given in was One hundred and twenty two, necessary to make a choice sixty two – Brig. Genl Richard T Dunlap had eighty two & he was declared elected on the part of the House.

Mr Cummings had leave to call up at this time, the motion made by him for a reconsideration of the vote whereby the House refused a second reading to the Bill to set off Benjamin Woodbury & others from Buckfield to Paris assigned for consideration at 10 oclock on Friday last, and after much debate the House refused to reconsider said vote.
