Petition of Benjamin Shaw and others respecting the fishery in Newport, committed in the House to the Joint Standing Committee on Interior Fisheries, came up for concurrence, and was read and concurred. -

[amendment proposed in the Bill for districting]

Mr. Dennett from the Committee to whom was referred the engrossed Bill relating to the districting of the State for the choice of Representatives to Congress &c. reported an amendment by striking out the second section of the Bill, and inserting a new one instead thereof; which was read and accepted: and A message was then sent to the House informing them of said amendment, and requesting their concurrence therein. -

The following Bills were severally read a second time and passed to be engrossed, viz. - Bill to establish a school fund in Wiscasset, Bill to authorize the town of Kennebunk to keep and maintain a Bridge over Mousam River. Bill respecting Academies incorporated in this State, Bill to incorporate the Maine Baptist Missionary Society, Bill repealing an Act respecting Alewive Fishery in Boothbay, and Bill to provide for the erection and government of a State Prison. -

Bill to incorporate the Maine Manufacturing Company was read once and committed, and tomorrow at ten oclock assigned for a second reading. - On
