The Speaker laid before the House a communication from Amos Nichols Secretary of State transmitting to the House the information required of him in relation to the expense incurred by the State for Job Punting during the several years of our existence as an independent state, under an order of this House of the 8th instant.

The committee on contested elections to whom was referred the Remonstrance of Ithaman bellows, against the election of Joel Wellington made their report by which it appears that said Joel Wellington was duly elected a Representative from the class composed of Albion & Freedom, and is entitled to hold a seat in this House - and the report was accepted.

The committee on contested elections to whom was referred the Remonstrance of Heard Lord against the election of John G Deane, made their report by which it appears that said John G Deane was duly elected a Representative from the class composed of Ellsworth, Trenton, Sundry ect, and is entitled to hold a seat in this House - and the report was accepted.

An Order came from the Senate for concurrence directing the Secretary of State to cause two hundred & fifty copies of the Legislature of Massachusetts of June last, conditionally granting a township of land to this State, and of the report of the Agents on the Canada Road to be printed forthwith; and that he furnish each member of the Executive Council & each member of the Legislature with one copy, and deposit the residue in the State Library subject to the disposal of the Governor - and the House concurred.
