The joint committee appointed to examine the returns of votes for Governor from the several towns & plantations in this State, reported the whole number given in to be fifteen thousand two hundred & fifty two – necessary to constitute an election seven thousand six hundred and twenty seven – that Albion K Parris, had fourteen thousand two hundred and six votes and is elected. That the votes from the following towns and plantations not appearing to have been sealed up in open town and plantation meetings are not included, Augusta, Hope, Bowdoinham, Castine, Prospect, Jonesboro’, New Portland, Starks, Orono, Hampden, & Plantation no. 4 east of Penobscot. That the votes from the following towns having been given at meetings at which it does not appear that the Selectmen presided are not included, Franklin, Newfield and Maxfield. That the votes from the following towns being certified by one Selectman only, are not included, Surry, Friendship and Brownville. That the votes from the following towns not having been delivered into the Secretaries office thirty days before the first Wednesday in January are not included, Greenwood, Readfield & Atkinson. That the votes from the town of Dutton not being sealed, are not included. That from the following towns & plantations no returns are received, Thompsons Pond plantation, Washington, Plantations no 27. 13. 14. 17. 18 No 1. first range, No 3. second range, No 3 first range, Dearborne, Berlin, Athens, No. 1. fourth range & Sunkhaze. That the return from Howards Gore, was regularly filed but no number of votes expressed – The report accepted in the Senate came down for concurrence and the House concurred.
