Bill additional to an act authorizing the town of Bangor to purchase the bridge over the Kenduskeag river in said town, reported with sundry amendments which were adopted, was read a third time & passed to be engrossed. Sent up for concurrence.

Petition of Betsy S Littlefield for authority to execute a deed of certain lands, was read and referred to the committee on the Judiciary. Sent up for concurrence.

The House resumed the order of the day on the Bill to set of [off] Benjamin Woodbury & others from Buckfield to Paris and refused the Bill a second reading.

Agreeably to assignment the House took a third ballot for a Major General for the 4th Division – The whole number of votes given in, was One hundred and forty two – necessary to a choice Seventy two – Brig. General Richard T Dunlap had eighty nine – and he was declared duly elected.

Mr Cummings of Paris moved a reconsideration of the vote refusing the Bill to set off Benjamin Woodbury & others from Buckfield to Paris, a second reading, and the House assigned 10 o’clock tomorrow to consider the motion.

Agreeably to notice, Mr Bourne moved a reconsideration of the vote of the 7th inst accepting the report on the petition of Nahum Smith & als &c and after considerable discussion & before the question was taken the House,
