Met according to adjournment.
On motion of Mr Norton of Canaan, The House resumed the consideration of the unfinished business of yesterday, the question being on adopting the amendment, to the motion of Mr Adams to commit the Memorial of Andrew Roberts & accompanying documents, moved by Mr Ruggles in the following words "and that Andrew" "Roberts be admitted to hold a seat in this House pending any" "further investigation of his case before the committee on Elections" and this question was taken by Yeas & Nays and decided in the negative as follows Yeas 69 Nays 75 [see appendix page 261] and then the motion prevailed to commit the papers to the committee on Elections, Mr Ruggles having previously withdrawn the depositions taken by Mr Roberts to support the allegations contained in his memorial, leave being first had for that purpose.
