Resolve making further provision respecting the State road from Sunkhaze to Mattawamkeag river, was read once & Monday at 10 oclock assigned for a 2d reading
  
The committee on the Judiciary to whom was referred the Resolve requesting the Governor to make application to the Secretary of War for the service of a Topographical Engineer, in this State, reported a reference of the subject to the next Legislature - and the report was accepted. Sent up for concurrence.

The committee on Finance to whom was referred the order instructing them to inquire into the expediency of authorizing towns to regulate and determine what proportion of public taxes shall be assessed on polls &c reported that it is inexpedient to legislate upon the subject - and the House concurred.
  
Bill - additional to an act to enforce the payment of Bank notes and for other purposes, came from the Senate in a new draft for concurrence and the House refused to concur and postponed the subject indefinitely. Sent up for concurrence.

Bill - additional to an act regulating judicial process & proceedings, came from the Senate, that body adhering to their vote of 25th ult passing this Bill to be engrossed as amended. The House insisted on their former vote of 28th inst. and appointed as conferees on their part Messrs Fessenden of Portland, Longfellow of Portland & Clark of Hallowell.
