On motion by Mr. Green ordered that this Governor be requested to communicate to this board whether any and if any what instructions were given to Joshua Carpenter relatives to two journeys performed in November and December last to settle his accents as Agent under the Resolve, passed February 6th, 1828.

Mr. Kingsbury from the Committee on that part of the Governor's speech relating to the Tariff and to whom was referred the Governor's special message communicating the Remonstrance and Resolution of the State of Georgia in relation to the Tariff made an extended report touching the constitutional power of Congress in relation to the subject disapproving the sentiments around in the Remonstrance and Resolution of the State of Georgia from the consideration of which the Committee ask to be discharged and therewith reported Resolve respecting the Tariff which with the Report and Resolve respecting the Tariff which with the report and Resolve were ordered to lie on the table and 300 copies ordered to be printed for the use of the Legislature.
