April 1st We left that hospital earley and traveled to the R.R. Station. I found Jonathan Pollard on the train wounded in the thigh. We arived at City Point about noon.

Sunday 2d The wounded are comeing in verry fast, as well as prisoners. It is reported the the south side R.R. is actualy taken. Heavy fireing in the night.

April 6th About ten patiants were transfered to Philedelphia. This is my birthday. One year ago I reported from Lewiston to Portland.

7th New that Sheridan and the 6th corps had taken part of Lees [Lee's] force and the rest must surender.
