Council and the Sheriff of Cumberland and before the President of the Senate in the presence of both Houses of the Legislature took and subscribed the oaths required by the Constitution to qualify him to enter upon the discharge of his official duties: the Secretary of State then made proclamation that Enoch Lincoln, was - Governor of the State of Maine for the current political year and to be respected and obeyed as such - The Governor then delivered to both Houses of the Legislature a speech, a copy of which with the accompanying documents was delivered to the President of the Senate - The Governor and Council then withdrew and the Convention separated

Afternoon [Order directing Governors speech to be printed] On motion by Mr Williams ordered that the Secretary of the Senate cause to be printed three hundred copies of the Governor's speech for the use of the members of the Senate [Committee of convention to received votes for Senator for Hancock Dis.] Agreeably to assignment the two Houses of the Legislature met in Convention for the purpose of supplying deficiencies at the Senate Board Messrs Hathaway Cutler Pond Johnson and Mitchell were appointed a committee to receive sort and count the votes for supplying the deficiency in Hancock District and having attempted to that duty reported the whole number of votes given by the Convention was 153
