Agreeably to assignment the two Branches met in Convention in the Representatives Chamber when Samuel E. Smtih the Governor elect attended by the Council Secretary of State & Treasurer & preceded by the Sheriff of Cumberland came in & took & subscribed the oath required by the Constitution to qualify him to enter upon the discharge of the duties of his office & the Secretary of State made proclamation thereof accordingly.

Mr. Deane of the Committee appointed to consider & ascertain the best mode of raising a valuation Committee the acceptance of which was contested until on motion the report was laid on the table.

Witham of Bluehill, Small of Jay, Sweat of Prospect, Lord of Gardner & Shaw of Standish were appointed on the part of the House. sent up.
