Lt. Col. Chamberlain, 20th Regt Aug. 15
It gives me pleasure to say a word for Mr. A. N. Linscott who wishes an appointment in the military service. I think he has especial qualifications in that line, & am quite sure he would do himself honor.
I should deem it a great accession to have him in the 20th Regt, but he will do his duty anywhere.
