69 Saturday, January 19th 1828 [order respecting places of insurance angst loss by fire] On motion by Mr Mace Ordered that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of providing by law for the issuing policies of insurance against loss or damage by fire at the risk and for the benefit of the State. Sent down for concurrence,

Orders of the House of Representatives that Messrs Trilby Crane and Moody with such as the Senate may join be a committee to inquire into the expediency of authorizing towns in the State, at their annual meetings to pass votes to tax owners of dogs came up for concurrence & the Senate nonconcurred
[providing for the attachment of rights of redemption of real estate] “ that the Committee on the Judiciary be instructed to inquire into the expediency of passing a law providing for the attachment and sale of rights of redemption to redeem real estate set off on execution
[Respecting Militia Law] “ the committee on the Militia and Military affairs be instructed to inquire into the expediency of revising correcting and amending the several acts now in force to organize, govern and discipline this state with leave to report by bill or otherwise
[Respecting the pat. of Engine men in town of Portland]
“ that the committee on the judiciary be instructed to inquire and report on the expediency of authorizing the town of Portland to appoint an additional number of Enginemen to the Hydraulion Engine were severally read and passed in concurrence.
