Ordered that a Message be sent to the Senate informing that body, that the House have agreed on their part to appoint the following standing Committees viz On the Judiciary, On State Lands, On Literature & Literary Institutions, - On incorporation of Towns, On Canals, Turnpike roads & bridges - On incorporation of Parishes & other religious Societies - On Interior fisheries, On Manufactures, On Banks & Banking, On Military Affairs, On the State Prison & Criminal Code, On applications from sick & wounded soldiers, On Accounts and request that said committees may be joined on the part of the Senate.

The Speaker announced his appointment of Monitors to the House as follows; For the Western Division - Moses Peaslee of Whitfield - " " centre Division Joseph Eaton of Winslow " " eastern Division Nicholas Rideout of Cumberland.

He also announced his appointment of the Committee on Contested Elections as follows: Messrs Clark of Hallowell, Jewett " Bowdoinham, Clark " Limington Kent " Bangor Bridgham " Buckfield.
