[Bill regulating Municipal affairs of Portland] Mr. Emerson from the committee on the Judiciary on the petition of the Inhabitants of Portland reported Bill regulating the Municipal affairs of the town of Portland and the same was read once and today at 12 oClock assigned for a second reading.

[Pet. Cha Thompson & al referred] Petition of Charles Thompson and others for incorporation of Standish Light Infantry was referred in concurrence to the Committee on the Militia &c

[Bill for organizing corporations referred] Bill making provision for organizing corporations came from the House referred to Messrs Smith, Swan and Peaslee with such as the Senate may join, the Senate concurred and joined Messrs. Page and Drummond.

[Pet. Aaron Cummings &al leave to withdraw] Mr. Witham from the Committee on Parishes &c asked to be discharged from the further consideration of the petition of Aaron Cummings and others and recommend a reference to the Committee on the Judiciary and the same was amended so as to grant the petitions leave to withdraw, accepted and sent down for concurrence. concurred.

[Report Legislature inexpedient on certain orders] Mr. Kingsbury from the Committee on the Judiciary on order of February 12th respecting the sale of land for taxes concd and order of February 16th concerning an amendment in the law respecting highways so that complainants shall receive no compensation as witnesses when complaints are not sustained reported that legislation is inexpedient.
