Saturday, February 18, 1832

Bill to after the times of holding the meetings of the county Commissioners for the county of Lincoln, laid on the table by Mr Groton, was read once, and Monday next at eleven same was committed to Messrs. Groton, Hodgman, and Lithgow.

On motion of Mr Megquier, ordered that Messrs Megquier, Sweat, and Goodwin, be a committee to consider the expediency of making an appropriation to defray the expenses of the last sickness of the late Hon. Benjamin, Pike, and of the removal of his remains from Augusta to Saco.

Order from the House appointing Messrs Smith of Portland, Bailey and Hall of Bowdoin, with such as the Senate may join, a committee to consider the expediency of providing for the erection of a Powder house for the State, near the State arsenal in Portland, read and passed in concurrence, and Messrs. Gibson and Goodwin are joined.

Order from the House appointing Messrs Clifford, Smith of Westbrook, Call, Eaton, Hinkley, O'Brien, Steele, Lancey, Fisk, and Esterbrook with such as the Senate may join a committee to ascertain and report the most practicable method of choosing Electors of President and Vice President and Members of Congress, and also whether legislation upon this subject us expedient before the passage of the apportionment Bill in Congress and Messrs Ingalls, Groton, Hunton, Davee, and Bridgeham are joined.
