294 highways and providing for the appointment of county Commissioners, reported by the committee on the Judiciary, was read a first and second time and passed to be engrossed. Sent down for concurrence.

Bill to organize, govern and discipline the Militia of this State came up from the House further amended. The Senate refuse to adopt the amendment proposed by the House, and adhere to their vote passing said Bill to be engrossed as amended. Sent down for concurrence.

Resolve in favour of the Westbrook Seminary came up from the House amended. The Senate recede from their vote passing said Resolve to be engrossed, adopt the amendment proposed by the House and pass the same to be engrossed as amended in concurrence.

Resolve for the relief of Daniel Brown was read and referred to the committee on State Lands. Sent down for concurrence.

Resolve for the further distribution of the laws of the State, reported by a select committee, was read a first and second time and passed to be engrossed. Resolves respecting the Tariff were read a second time and a motion was made by Mr. Boutelle to amend by adding at the end of the first Resolve the following words "And the proper protection of our National Industry".
