On motion of Mr. Smith of Gray Ordered, That the Committee on the Militia be instructed to enquire into the expediency of arming the Militia at the expense of the State - sent up for concurrence.

On motion of Mr Tobin Ordered that the Committee on the Judiciary be directed to enquire into the expediency of abolishing the office of Crier in the Courts of this State and transferring their duties to the Sheriffs of the several counties - The House reconsider their vote whereby they passed the foregoing order and refer the same to a select Committee of this House consisting of Messrs. Tobin, Emerson and Phelps.
